Table Styles · Import-only edition

Apply new or updated table styles to documents you already had

Changing a table style in the template doesn't work retroactively: documents that already exist keep the old formatting. The Import-only edition brings a ready-made style into those documents anyway, without anyone being able to design, so there's no risk of accidentally breaking the brand identity.

01

One file as the source: the .ksstyle file

The Import-only edition doesn't design styles itself. It imports a ready-made .ksstyle file into a Word, PowerPoint or Excel document, template or workbook, and applies it there directly. So that file needs to already exist.

That .ksstyle file can come from three places:

  • You design it yourselves, with the Full edition
  • Your template builder delivers it alongside a new or refreshed template
  • KeyScript creates it on request

Especially useful when you're introducing new styles but want to apply them to existing documents, or when you want to apply updated styles to existing documents: table styles aren't updated based on a changed template by default.

Applying works, designing doesn't

With the Import-only edition you apply a style and set it as the default. Adding, duplicating, editing, renaming, deleting a style, or adjusting colors deliberately can't: that stays reserved for the Full edition.

That means you can roll this edition out broadly within an organization, even to colleagues who otherwise have nothing to do with brand identity, without the risk of anyone accidentally changing a style the wrong way.

Can do

  • Apply a style (import it)
  • Set it as the default style

Can't do

  • Add or duplicate
  • Edit or adjust colors
  • Rename or delete

Who is the Import-only edition for?

For companies that manage their own templates, or have them managed, and want to apply the resulting table styles broadly to existing documents. Think of a brand identity refresh, a new color palette, or simply documents that no longer match after years of use.
