Editing Fill

The Fill card controls the background color of the current scope's cells.

Solid or none

Use the dropdown to choose Solid (a background color) or None (no fill - the cell shows whatever's behind it, such as Whole Table's own fill or the page background).

Choosing a color

Set the fill to Solid then select one of the ways to pick a color:

  • Theme colors: a grid of 10 columns, one per theme color (the same colors as your Word/PowerPoint/Excel theme's own color scheme - Text/Background 1 and 2, and Accent 1-6). Each column is 6 rows tall: the base color on top, then 5 lighter/darker tint variations below it - matching the same Theme Colors gallery you'd see in Word or PowerPoint itself. Picking a theme color (rather than a fixed RGB value) means the style adapts automatically if the file's theme colors ever change, and travels correctly when exported/imported between files with different
themes - see Portable style files (.ksstyle).
  • If the template or document has custom colors (a file can hold up to 50 of these custom colors) they are displayed below the theme colors and you can pick one of these. Note that these are RGB values, so will stay the same, even if you import the style in a file with different theme colors.
  • Custom…: opens an RGB picker for any exact color. A custom color doesn't have tint/shade variants the way theme colors do.

There's no "Automatic" fill option - Word's own table-shading gallery doesn't offer one either, so this app matches that.
