Welcome to Table Branding Manager
Table Branding Manager is a standalone Windows application for creating and editing table styles in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel templates and documents. It fills a real gap in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint has no built-in visual editor for table styles at all, and while Word and Excel do, this app lets you design a style once and reuse it across all three applications - something none of them can do on their own.
You don't need Word, PowerPoint, or Excel installed to use this app. It reads and writes the underlying Office Open XML files directly.
Who this is for
This app is built for people who create and maintain branded Office templates for an organization - a corporate design team, a communications department, or a consultant setting up templates for a client. If you've ever hand-edited a table style's XML because no visual tool existed, this app replaces that entirely.
What you can do
- Design table styles visually - fill, borders, font, and cell padding - for every scope a table style supports (whole table, header/total row, first/last column, banded rows/columns, and the four corner cells).
- Edit table styles directly inside PowerPoint/Word templates (.potx/.potm/.dotx/.dotm) and ordinary presentations/documents (.pptx/.pptm/.docx/.docm) alike.
- Import a style into an Excel template or workbook that was designed in Word or PowerPoint - Excel already has its own style designer, so this app focuses on bringing your Word/PowerPoint styles into Excel rather than duplicating Excel's own editor.
- Preview how a style resolves across a realistic table, including how PowerPoint/Word/Excel resolve conflicting borders between adjacent cells.
- Export a style to a portable .ksstyle file and import it into a different template or document - even one with a different theme, since colors can be stored relative to the theme (e.g. "Accent 1").
The main window, at a glance
The window is split into three panels:
- Left panel - open a file, browse your recent files, and manage the list of table styles in it (add, duplicate, rename, delete, export/import).
- Center panel - edit the selected style's properties (Fill, Borders, Font, Cell padding) for whichever scope you've chosen (Whole Table, Header Row, ...). For Excel files, this panel is replaced by an explanation, since Excel styles aren't designed here (see Table styles in Excel).
- Right panel - a live 5×5 preview of the selected style, with checkboxes to show what the style looks like with Header row, Total row, Banded rows, etc. turned on or off.
The next few topics walk through requirements, activation, and opening your first file.
